Jalair Dovdon Batbayar

Member of Mongolian Artists’ Association, researcher, calligraphist, teacher of painting

  • Born on April 2, 1959 

  • Finished the School of painting in studying from 1975 to 1979, specialezed as decorator   and painter 

  • 1979 – 1981 designer and master teacher in a paint

  • 1981 – 1987 painter in Ulaanbaatar city branch of Mongolian Artists’ Association 

  • 1987 – 1994 teacher of the art circle  in Mongolian Child Palace  

  • 1994 – 1996 teacher in state and private universities and colleges 

  • Since 1997 has been working as the teacher of the art circle in Mongolian Child Palace and leading an atelier of Mongolian Calligraphy

  • Awarded with a medal of labor honor, title of outstanding worker of national education,   title of promoter of national script and culture

August 16, 1991

“By a drop of ink”. The first exhibition of Mongolian calligraphy organized conjointly with the exhibition “Wonders of Mongolian books”.

May 20, 1992

“Golden Tether”. Exhibition of Mongolian calligraphy consisting from a series of 24 works exhibited during the International Research Conference of Chinggis studies, Ulaanbaatar .

August 11, 1992

“By two drops of ink”. Exhibition of Mongolian calligraphy during the 6th International conference of Mongolists, Ulaanbaatar city central library

April 26, 1993

“By three drops of ink”. Exhibition of Mongolian calligraphy held in the Harada Kampo Palace of Calligraphy, Kyoto , Japan .

September 20, 1993

“Fascination of Calligraphy”. Exhibition dedicated to the first National Celebration  of Calligraphy, Fine Arts Museum named after Zanabazar, Ulaanbaatar . 

November 18, 1994

“Script blessed by heaven”. Exhibition at the Research Conference “Academician B.Rinchen – converter of sounds” held in the Palace of Peace and Friendship, Ulaanbaatar .

“Agula” First training of the Mongolian Calligraphy at the “Geser” church

“Pleasure of brush and ink”. Exhibition at the Research Conference dedicated to the 160th anniversary of famous Mongolian scripter Injinash, National University of Mongolia.
